Please note

Our tour serves only vegan food and we take pride in offering it. However, it’s important to keep in mind that most Moroccans do not adopt a vegan lifestyle. During your stay, you may come across situations where animals are involved in routine daily activities and more. Our commitment is to deliver a travel experience that is characterized by compassion and mindfulness. This includes a sincere acknowledgment of the local culture and practices, even if they may differ from vegan principles. We encourage understanding and respect for the cultural context, while still ensuring a vegan-friendly journey for our participants. The trip is open to everyone — you are not required to be vegan to join us.

Who should come on this trip?

Anyone with a desire to be around a group of people who want to explore Morocco. The way of life in the country is not like the USA. Therefore, it’s important that travelers visit with an open-mind and understand that the culture and lifestyle is not the same. You will likely see animals being used to cart goods and in markets, as well as leather goods. In addition, it’s important that anyone joining this trip is open-minded, patient and understanding. Not everyone on the trip may be vegan. However, we do ask that while with the group, no animal products are consumed. Please be courteous of those who have different view points. This is a group of strangers traveling together who will become friends — remember kindness is key. And so is travel insurance. We recommend World Nomads.

For those who want to experience traveling in a sustainable way, ecotourism is the way to go. The term ‘ecotourism’ has been around for a while—and you’ve probably heard it a few times in the recent years. Over the coming years, you’re going to hear more and more about it.

As a long-time traveler and host of my own vegan tours, ecotourism and supporting local communities is very important to me. I learned a lot during my time working in responsible elephant tourism in Thailand and continue to thread that through in all of the trips I host.

Be sure to travel smart! Get travel insurance to protect you and your trip.

What is ecotourism?

The 25 best destinations for ecotourism (2024)

Ecotourism means responsible travel to natural areas while conserving the environment. You will be traveling to destinations in a way that you make a positive impact on the environment as well as the local community. Ecotourism is usually done on a small scale (the opposite of mass travel). Even then, the negative impacts of traveling are minimized as much as possible.

Visiting ecotourism destinations is a great way to learn more about the environment, use sustainable resources, and help the local economy.

Where should you head for your ecotourism trip?

The 25 best destinations for ecotourism (2024). What is ecotourism?

The World Economic Forum ranks 136 destinations based on their natural sites and species, perfect for ecotourism. In this blog post, we list the 25 best ecotourism destinations in the world for 2024 and beyond—they’re sustainable and will give you a true feel of ecotourism!

Also, if you’re looking for vegan-friendly accommodation during your trip, consider the Pokhara Grande.

  1. Vietnam

Vietnam. The 25 best destinations for ecotourism (2024).

Vietnam is a beautiful country that will award you with plenty of breathtaking scenes — and has a deep and heroic history. If you’re hoping to visit during nice and cool weather, September is a great month to book your trip.

What to do in Vietnam

  • Enjoy views of limestone islands and take a boat ride at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay

  • Walk through the Cu Chi tunnels (these were dug in the 1940s)

  • Marvel at the biosphere reserve of the world’s largest cave, Phong Nha

Also, enjoy a vegan-friendly, luxurious stay at The Nam Hai in Hoi An, which features high-end villas.

Are you ready to go?

If you’re passionate about preserving nature, responsible tourism is for you! Eco-tourism is something all of us have a part to play in. It’s all about realizing our impact on nature and making efforts to minimize it — including working against the effects of climate change.

Throughout your travels to the best ecotourism destinations, be sure to make responsible choices. For example, visit where there’s usually a small number of visitors, eat and stay local, and respect the environment by reducing your carbon footprint. When you can, take a walk instead of public transport and be mindful of your activities. And if you choose tour operators, make sure they prioritize having a good environmental impact. With these little changes, we can make this world a better place—one step at a time.

Vegan Dining Month Guide: Las Vegas (2024)

Welcome to the seventh annual Vegan Dining Month taking place in Las Vegas the entire month of January. In conjunction with Veganuary, an international non-profit challenging people to go vegan for the month, Vegans, Baby’s annual event celebrates plant-based dining in the Valley.

This is a guide to all restaurants participating in the 2024 Vegan Dining Month. At the end of the month, each restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds from their specific dishes below to the Nevada SPCA.

Since 1982, Nevada SPCA is the original lifesaving animal shelter in Las Vegas for over 40 years. They are a local, independent, 501(3)c nonprofit that does not have a government contract or any regular funding from national organizations; they rely entirely on donations from our community.  Nevada SPCA intakes an average of 2500 homeless pets each year including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and pet rats; 65% of their intake is from surrenders by pet owners for a variety of reasons including financial hardship, lease restrictions, pet veterinary costs, family changes, owner’s passing and more, and the remainder of their intake is from transfers from other shelters in Nevada as well as orphan kittens from the streets.  Every animal that enters the shelter is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered and provided the needed medical care to prepare them for adoption. Nevada SPCA also has a Community Support Desk and Pet Pantry that provides food and low-cost veterinary assistance for families in need to keep pets where they belong: with the owners they love.

The 11 best vegan restaurants in Las Vegas

Updated: Oct. 10, 2023

There’s more than 20 vegan restaurants in Las Vegas. From Asian to tacos and literally everything in between, there’s no wonder Las Vegas is one of the top cities in the US for vegan food.

But, if you’re only in Las Vegas for a few days, or want the absolute best eats in town right now, picking the spot isn’t necessarily easy. Fortunately, you came to the right spot. After eating my way through Las Vegas for seven years, I have the immense joy to share the best vegan food near me during that time. These 10 best vegan restaurants in Las Vegas are based on my years of dining out, checking out every vegan restaurant in town and sharing them with you.

Ok, so it’s impossible to pick only one best vegan restaurant in Las Vegas. It’s even hard to pick 11. However, I’ve managed to narrow the pool based on what makes each special.

If you want even more of the best vegan food in Las Vegas, check out my 2023 Las Vegas Vegan Dining Guide. It shares the best restaurants for vegan dining across 45+ categories.

1. BLACKOUT (Dining in the Dark)

Blackout Dining in the Dark is an all-vegan restaurant serving coursed meals for lunch and dinner in the dark. Fore more vegan food in Las Vegas, visit www.vegansbaby.com/vegansbaby2018
Photo: Blackout

Cuisine: American

Meals: dinner

Setting: full-service

Location: Las Vegas

What makes it special: BLACKOUT is the only restaurant in Las Vegas that offers the dining in the dark concept. From the time you walk into the dining room until the time you leave, it’s pitch black. Staff are equipped with night vision goggles and guests are left to enjoy a sensory experience that relies on all the other senses but sight. What I love most about this spot is that it doesn’t advertise it’s vegan. In fact, you don’t even know until the end of the meal when you’re presented with the menu.

Vegans, Baby Pick: it’s a set menu so there aren’t choices which makes it really easy

2. Chef Kenny’s Dim Sum

Chef Kenny's Vegan Dim Sum is a vegan restaurant opening in January 2021 in Las Vegas. For more vegan dining in Las Vegas visit www.vegansbaby.com

Cuisine: dim sum, Asian

Meals: lunch, dinner

Setting: full-service

Location: Chinatown

What makes it special: Chef Kenny Chye is one of the most well-known vegan chefs in town. He rose to fame with Veggie House, and has opened a few restaurants since leaving there.

Vegans, Baby Pick: orange chicken

3. Crossroads Kitchen

Crossroads Kitchen is the first vegan fine dining restaurant in Las Vegas. Here are 10 dishes to try at Crossroads Kitchen in Las Vegas. For more vegan dining visit www.vegansbaby.com

You know I’m a sucker for pizza. If there’s a vegan pizza near me to try, I’m there. So, when I heard about Pizza Twist and their marriage of Indian food and pizza (who’d have thunk?!?!), it was one of my first stops. Sure, Indian and pizza don’t sound like they’d go together. And, perhaps your tastebuds may question your life choices for a brief moment. But, one things for sure: Pizza Twist knows what they’re doing and no matter how unsure you are, these pies are surprisingly good. In addition, Pizza Twist has a ton of vegan options to choose from.

Not a fan of Indian? That’s ok. The vegan-friendly Las Vegas restaurant has the pizzas we’ve all grown up with, too.

Pizza Twist Vegan Indian pizza options

You don’t need to be adventurous to love these pizzas, but you do need to enjoy the complex flavors of Indian food.

Try the Vegan Butter Chicken Pizza Twist. It’s made with their signature vegan butter sauce and cheese, plus vegan chicken, red onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. The pie comes garnished with fresh cilantro and guarantees flavor in every bite.

They also serve tandoori BBQ pizza, garlic chicken, manchurian and tikka masala pies on the twist side of the aisle.

Other vegan pizzas at Pizza Twist

Of course, if you prefer the more traditional pizzas, you’re all set. They’ve got vegan meat lovers, veggies galore, pepperoni, BBQ chicken and more.

Additional vegan options

Aside from the pies, they also serve up other options. For wing lovers, they’ve got vegan soy wings they can toss in a variety of sauces — both traditional sauces and Indian flavors.

They also serve vegan cheesy bread, samosas and fries.

The 5 new vegan products from Fancy Food Show I’m excited for

ICYMI, the summer Fancy Food Show was held in NYC this week. If you’re unfamiliar with the Fancy Food Show, it’s a bi-annual food show that is the biggest specialty food industry event on the continent. This year, the massive show included a Plant-Based Pavilion, as well as exhibitors from around the world with vegan products recently in the market, or coming to market.

Unlike Plant Based World, this show is not specifically vegan so it was a little adventure to discover the products which were fully vegan.

In all, I visited around 50 booths serving up vegan options and these are five vegan products from Fancy Food Show I’m excited for.

Nutty Bunny

5 vegan products from Summer Fancy Food Show 2023 to look out for.

Remember McDonald’s soft serve ice cream? Nutty Bunny tastes like that and it’s good! Creamy, not too sweet, and a perfect texture makes this vegan ice cream one I definitely want to try again.

Not only do they make non-dairy ice cream, they also make an iced tea sorbet line that include chai, Earl Grey and more.

Unshellfish Foods

5 vegan products from Summer Fancy Food Show 2023 to look out for.

Originally a Maryland girl, I’m a sucker for anything that is a vegan version of crabcakes. There are only a couple I love, and this Lion’s Mane Crabless cake from Unshellish Foods gets the flavor nearly perfect. It’s also got a similar texture to crabcakes, so I’m looking forward to digging into these when they come to a shop or restaurant near me.

These bad boys come from mushrooms farmed from Two River Organic Mushrooms in Millstone, NJ.

Prime Roots

5 vegan products from Summer Fancy Food Show 2023 to look out for.

I’m normally not a fan of vegan deli meats, but the minute I sunk my teeth into these vegan deli meats from Prime Roots, I was a convert. Excellent flavor, excellent texture and definitely something I’d slap onto a sandwich and devour.

They’re use Koji, a fungi, to create this delish vegan meats and their product line includes deli meats, bacon and charcuterie options. Deli meats include smoked vegan ham and turkey, Black Forest turkey and cracked pepper and Sugar Shack maple ham. The charcuterie includes salami, pepperoni, pate and more.

Caviarum Plant Pearls

5 vegan products from Summer Fancy Food Show 2023 to look out for.

This caviar company is making vegan caviar. While it’s a little more mushroom than ocean, I love the concept and think this product makes a perfect addition to a boogie wine and (fill-in-your-taste) board.

Caviarum’s vegan caviar uses formulated seaweed and mushroom broth to create black pearls that provide a similar mouth feel to fish caviar.

Mochidoki

5 vegan products from Summer Fancy Food Show 2023 to look out for.

I love passionfruit and I love a squishy mochi and Mochidoki (which won for best product) delivers this. Their vegan passionfruit mochi combines two of my loves for a sweet, refreshing treat. You can bet I’ll be buying these when they come out near me.

Their vegan collection made with coconut cream and oat milk features passionfruit, lychee, coconut, matcha, chocolate hazelnut and mango.

What products are you excited to try? Let me know in the comments!

A look at Vegamour’s Gro Haircare
Thicker, fuller hair thanks to the vegan haircare line Vegamour Gro
Thicker, fuller tresses have me smiling hard

*Are you looking for a vegan and cruelty-free haircare line that helps your hair grow? If you said yes, meet Vegamour. I’ve been a fan of this company for years and recently got my hands on Vegamour’s Gro Haircare Line.

After getting COVID in summer of 2022, and then subsequently losing a significant amount of weight, my hair started to fall out. A lot. Around January, I got my hands on a ton of vegan and cruelty-free hair products that all promised hair growth and fullness. Including Vegamour’s Gro line.

I tried the entire line (thanks to a generous gift from the company), and have continued to use four products for the last six months – their dry shampoo, shampoo, conditioner, and hair serum.

Vegamour Gro Dry Shampoo

Vegamour makes an amazing dry shampoo that is vegan and cruelty-free

Let’s start with the star of the show – the Vegamour Gro Dry Shampoo. This little gem is a lifesaver on those busy days when washing your hair feels like a chore. Or, if you’re like me and have a color that fades every time you wash it, you want to get as much mileage as you can between shampoos, ya feel me? Not only does it revitalize my roots and banish excess oil, but it also adds volume and texture. My hair goes from limp to full in an instant and I love it.

Vegamour Gro Shampoo and Conditioner

Vegan and cruelty-free hair care for hair growth by Vegamour Gro

Now, let’s move on to the Vegamour Gro Shampoo and Conditioner duo. These products are absolute game-changers when it comes to achieving healthy, luscious locks. Infused with nourishing botanicals like argan oil and biotin, this duo cleanses and hydrates your hair while promoting strength and vitality.

Vegamour Gro Hair Serum

Vegan hair serum for growth by Vegamour Gro

Last but not least, let’s talk about the Vegamour Gro Hair Serum – the secret weapon for promoting hair growth and thickness. This serum is formulated with potent ingredients like red clover extract and mung bean, which work wonders on your scalp and hair follicles. With consistent use, I’ve noticed a visible improvement in my hair’s thickness and overall health. Even my stylist remarked last time she saw me that my hair was growing quick.

Should you get this vegan haircare line?

One of the things I love most about Vegamour’s Gro Haircare Line is its commitment to being vegan and cruelty-free. I’m all over a brand that aligns with my values and delivers outstanding results. The fact that these products are free from harmful chemicals and instead packed with natural, plant-based goodness makes my little vegan heart oh-so-happy.

So, if you’re on the lookout for a haircare line that not only delivers stunning results but also respects our furry friends and the environment, look no further than Vegamour’s Gro Haircare Line. From the oil-absorbing dry shampoo to the nourishing shampoo, conditioner, and hair serum, these products will transform your hair routine while aligning with your ethical choices. Embrace the power of nature and enjoy fabulous hair, guilt-free!

*This review is sponsored by Vegamour but it legit works and I will continue using it

How to plan a vegan-friendly vacation

How to plan vegan travel. Vegan travel tips

Planning a vacation as a vegan can be both exciting and challenging. However, with the growing popularity of plant-based lifestyles, there has never been a better time to embark on a vegan-friendly adventure. These vegan travel tips are for you!

As someone who thrives on vegan travel planning, curates and hosts award-winning international vegan group trips and was one of the world’s top travel bloggers before entering into this amazing vegan world, I’ve got some vegan trip planning ideas for you.

This guide will provide you with tips and resources to plan the perfect vegan vacation. From choosing vegan-friendly destinations to finding plant-based dining options and unique vegan experiences, I’ve got you covered. And, if all of this seems like too much, book on one of my vegan tours or reach out for my vegan travel concierge and trip-planning services!

So, let’s dive in and explore how to make your next vacation a memorable and delicious vegan journey.

Research Vegan-Friendly Destinations

When planning a vegan-friendly vacation, the first step is to choose a destination that caters to plant-based lifestyles.

The best search terms for vegan trip planning

When conducting online research, using the right search terms will help you find relevant information about vegan-friendly destinations. Some effective search terms include “vegan-friendly cities,” “best vegan destinations,” “vegan travel guide,” “vegan restaurants in [destination],” and “vegan activities in [destination].” These search terms will generate results that offer insights into vegan options, vegan communities, and local vegan hotspots.

Check out Facebook Groups

Facebook groups dedicated to vegan travel are excellent resources for gathering information and recommendations from experienced vegan travelers.

Joining these communities allows you to connect with like-minded individuals who can provide firsthand insights into vegan-friendly destinations, restaurants, and accommodations. Engage in conversations, ask for recommendations, and share your own experiences.

Some popular vegan travel Facebook groups include “Vegan Travelers,”and  “Vegan Tours and Vacations.”

Work with vegan travel agencies

Vegan travel agencies specialize in curating travel experiences that cater to vegan lifestyles. They take the guesswork out of planning by offering pre-planned itineraries to vegan-friendly destinations. These agencies have extensive knowledge of vegan cuisine, accommodations, and activities in various locations. By partnering with a vegan travel agency, you can ensure a stress-free and vegan-focused vacation.

Some popular vegan travel agencies include Veg Jaunts and Journeys, Green Earth Travel, and Kind Traveler. If you want to explore Africa, connect with Alluring Africa where I am their curator for all things vegan and help plan trips.

Go for low-hanging fruit and travel to well-known vegan-friendly cities

Researching vegan-friendly cities and countries will help ensure you have ample dining options and access to vegan amenities.

Popular vegan-friendly destinations include Berlin, Germany; New York, New York, USA; Tel Aviv, Israel; and Chiang Mai, Thailand.  There’s also Las Vegas, and you’re in luck if you’re planning a trip here because I’ve got allllll the vegan food suggestions and a dining guide to the best vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants in Las Vegas.

But, I digress.

Berlin, Germany

Berlin has emerged as a vegan mecca, complete with a thriving vegan food scene. Start your culinary journey at Kopps, an upscale vegan restaurant offering innovative plant-based creations and tasting menus. For a taste of authentic German cuisine, visit Lucky Leek, a Michelin recommended restaurant. Here,  traditional dishes are given a seasonal, vegan twist.

Tel Aviv, Israel

Vegan travel tip: eat all the hummus in Tel Aviv. For more vegan travel tips and vegan travel planning visit www.vegansbaby.com

Tel Aviv is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that has embraced the vegan lifestyle with open arms. Experience the bustling vegan food scene by dining at the famous Anastasia Café or indulging in creamy hummus at the most famous, and oldest hummus joint, Abu Hassan. Get there early, the line wraps down the block most days. But, the wait is absolutely worth it.

Don’t miss the vibrant Carmel Market, where you can find fresh produce and vegan snacks. And, if you happen to book your trip in June, be sure to check out the world’s largest vegan festival put on by Vegan Friendly.

New York, New York

Jerrell's Betr Brgr is a vegan burger restaurant in New York City open late. For more vegan dining in New York City visit www.vegansbaby.com

As a current NYC resident, of course this city is on my list of top picks. Fortunately, there’s a good reason other than my living there — it’s loaded with amazing vegan restaurants. For the best burgers you’ve ever sunk your teeth in to (anywhere), Jerrell’s Betr Brgr is where it’s at. There’s also an all-vegan pizza joint, Screamer’s, where you can grab a NY slice of pizza, and the wildly popular Whipped Urban Desert Lab where you can indulge your ice cream cravings. For more vegan eats, be sure to check out all my top vegan picks in NYC.

In the summer, there’s the Vegan Night Market in Central Park, and year-round you can find tons of vegan foodie events.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Your guide to where to eat vegan food in Chiang Mai, Thailand. For more vegan guides, visit www.vegansbaby.com/vegansbaby2018

I lived in Chiang Mai for a few years in the mid 2010s and it’s an excellent destination. Nestled in the mountains of northern Thailand, it is a paradise for vegan travelers. Enjoy a feast at Vegan Heaven, the first vegan restaurant to open here, offering an extensive menu of Thai and international vegan dishes. Other of my favorites Chiang Mai restaurants includes the restaurant at Green Tiger House, an all-vegan hotel, where you can try the local dish, khao soi, a coconut soup made vegan.

Also, swing by  Pun Market. It offers a variety of vegan food options and locally made organic products.

Utilize Vegan Travel Resources

To plan a successful vegan vacation, take advantage of the numerous vegan travel resources available. Online platforms like HappyCow, and VegVisits provide valuable information on vegan-friendly restaurants, accommodations, and local tips from vegan travelers. Utilize these platforms to discover hidden vegan gems and connect with like-minded individuals.

Additionally, consult vegan travel blogs (hi!), guidebooks, and social media accounts for personal recommendations and insider insights. These resources will help you navigate unfamiliar destinations and find the best vegan spots around the world.

Accommodations for Vegans

Choosing vegan-friendly accommodations is essential for a seamless vegan vacation.

Experience vegan Thailand with Vegans, Baby. For more vegan world tours, visit www.vegansbaby.com

Be sure to check with your hotel to determine if they have vegan and cruelty-free products, down-free pillows and blankets and more.

Opting for eco-friendly and sustainable accommodations is also a great way to align with your ethical values. Consider staying at vegan hotels, eco-lodges, or vegan-friendly Airbnbs. These accommodations often prioritize sustainability, cruelty-free products, and a plant-based ethos.

Vegan Dining Experiences

One of the highlights of a vegan vacation is indulging in delicious plant-based cuisine.

Prioritize exploring vegan restaurants, cafes, and food markets in your chosen destination. HappyCow is an invaluable resource for finding vegan-friendly eateries worldwide. Research and make a list of vegan restaurants to try, and don’t forget to sample local vegan dishes and culinary specialties.

Engage with locals, chefs, and fellow vegans to discover hidden gems and insider recommendations. Additionally, consider taking vegan food tours or cooking classes to immerse yourself in the local vegan culture and learn new culinary skills.

If you really want to explore with experts, I offer curated international group tours regularly and you can find out when my trips when you sign up to be alerted on the next experiences.

Ethical and Sustainable Activities

Incorporate ethical and sustainable activities into your vegan vacation to make a positive impact and gain a deeper understanding of the local culture.

Explore wildlife reserves and national parks where animals rule, or visit sanctuaries and animal rescue centers. Participate in eco-tours, beach cleanups, or nature conservation projects to contribute to environmental sustainability.

Engage in community-based initiatives, such as volunteering at vegan events or supporting local vegan businesses. This way, you can align your vacation with your ethical values and leave a positive footprint in the destinations you visit.

Vegan Travel Tips and Packing Essentials

To ensure a smooth vegan travel experience, follow these essential tips:

  • Research local customs and dietary preferences to understand cultural considerations and communicate your dietary needs effectively.
  • Pack vegan travel snacks and essential items such as reusable water bottles, vegan toiletries, and eco-friendly utensils.
  • Use sustainable transportation options like public transit or eco-friendly car rentals whenever possible.
  • Stay hydrated and nourished during travel by carrying a refillable water bottle and plant-based snacks.
  • Finally, embrace flexibility and have a positive mindset, as not all destinations may have the same vegan infrastructure as your home country.

[Editor’s Note: Fragile Flour sadly closed its doors August 2023. However, Lady Ashton is still creating vegan baked goods. Reach out directly to her if you’d like to secure some vegan cake in NYC]

Updated: Sept. 27, 2023

Tucked into a sliver of a first floor in a pre-war East Village building is Fragile Flour. Created and owned by Overthrow Hospitality, the vegan juggernaut of restaurant groups, this cozy, brick-walled spot is a rarity in the plant-based world — it’s an entire vegan bakery. IMO, it’s the best vegan bakery in Manhattan. Or the country.

A few little pedestal tables make up the “dining room” and, beyond that lies what customers come for: Baker Lady Ashton‘s glass case filled with decadent sweets.

Here, vegan cupcakes filled with chocolate cream or gooey marshmallows or fruit jam are lined up. Black and white cookies overlap each other. Fruit tarts glimmer through the case as wide-eyed visitors take it all in.

Check out the best vegan bakery in NYC, Fragile Flour and try their vegan cakes NYC. For more vegan dining and vegan desserts in NYC visit www.vegansbaby.com

Next to the massive display is a spinning cake stand with fresh, gorgeous cakes towering at least three layers high loll around, encased in glass. The chalkboard sign invites you to grab a slice, or hell, take home the entire, marvelous cake. (And yes, there are plenty of gluten-free options, including vegan and gluten-free cake.)

Behind the counter, wine bottles line the wall. Because, after all, what good is a vegan dessert shop without some vegan wine to wash it down? Should you find yourself with some time to give in to the utter indulgence of the space, devour a slice and sip.

“I guess I’ll take a little of everything to showcase,” I sigh, utterly overwhelmed and feeling like I’ve stumbled into this embarrassment of riches without a true game plan.

So, we get to work selecting the different desserts I will sample.

A popcorn cookie (made with corn flour and sprinkled with salt. While the team assure me it tastes like popcorn, I don’t taste it. But, it’s still damn good.)

A S’mores cupcake.

A strawberry cream cookie.

And so much more.

Vegan cake in NYC at a vegan bakery in Manhattan. For more vegan dining visit www.vegansbaby.com

As per usual, I set up my camera to document the lavish vegan treats now set up on the table in varying heights (because we’ve got to make it look good, ya know?).

I get to work, delicately forking the cake and letting it sit and soak into my tongue. It’s sweet. Moist. The icing is light, fluffy, and doesn’t leave a film of oil most vegan icings tend to leave on your lips. I smile, delighted by the treat.

Then, it’s on to the cupcake. Because content. I cut into it, slowly taking the knife and moving it into the center before guiding the pieces apart and splaying the middle so everyone can see the oozing marshmallow inside.

Finally, it’s the cookie break.

For some reason, social media loves a good break, and I split the cooking apart with my thumbs slowly, making sure every tiny crumb is captured on camera, before stacking the pieces together so the innards — a swirl of blonde cookie and light pink strawberry creme are on perfect display.

Is Fragile Flour worth a visit? Absolutely. It’s the best vegan dessert spot I’ve ever been to, even if I don’t get the popcorn cookie.
