The vegan desert at The Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas is no longer. Thanks to the addition of vegan options at the Mexican Carlos ‘N Charlie’s, there is now a vegan option at The Flamingo.
It may have taken roughly seven years for the restaurant to add the options (hey, who’s counting?), but we’re just happy they now have vegan food.
Thanks in large part to the restaurant’s human resources manager Ceci Andrade, Carlos ‘N Charlie’s offers numerous vegan eats, many of which are gluten-free or can be made gluten-free.
“We are very excited with our new vegan options,” says Andrade. “[The restaurant] is committed to providing an amazing experience to its customers … and this means all customers.”
Andrade, who is vegan, helped spearhead the new vegan options at the Flamingo restaurant.
Start your meal with guacamole made tableside, complete with fresh avocados mashed with cilantro, tomato, onion and serrano pepper, along with a big filled with tortilla chips.
Another vegan option to get you going at Carlos ‘N Charlies is the grilled street corn (tell them you’re vegan).
For your main course, we’re partial the veggie fajitas that comes sizzling on a skillet, along with pico, guac, salsa and your choice of corn or flour tortillas.
The restaurant also offers wet burritos with portobello mushrooms along with sautéed bell peppers and onions and topped with both red and green sauces, lettuce and pickled onions along with refried beans and Mexican rice, as well as vegan enchiladas.
If you’re craving a bowl, the vegan-friendly bowl is the way to go. It comes filled with fresh broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, onions, lettuce, tomato and avocado, plus rice and beans.
For the taco fan or Taco Tuesday, order up the portobello tacos cooked in EVOO.
They also serve avocado toast (hold the cheese) and a vegan burger that’s similar to Impossible and Beyond, topped with Follow Your Heart Cheese.
